Usage, Directions, Indication and Instructions

This is used in men to treat the symptoms of an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia or BPH) which include difficulty urinating (hesitation, dribbling, weak stream, and incomplete bladder emptying), painful urination, and urinary frequency and urgency.

Adverse Reactions, Precautions and Warning

TInform your doctor and pharmacist if you are allergic to it or any other medications. Do not forget to tell your doctor and pharmacist what other prescription and nonprescription medications, vitamins, nutritional supplements, and herbal products you are taking or plan to take. This can cause side effects that may impair your thinking or reactions. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be awake and alert. You may feel dizzy when getting up from a sitting or lying position Stop using this and call your doctor at once if you have severe light-headedness or fainting, or if you have an erection of your penis that is painful or lasts longer than 4 hours rash, itching, hives, swelling of the eyes, face, tongue, lips, throat, arms, hands, feet, ankles, or lower legs. Avoid drinking alcohol. It may increase dizziness caused by this.
Side effects other than those listed here may also occur. Talk to your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual or that is especially bothersome.

Dosage and Administration

It is usually taken once a day. Take this 30 minutes after the same meal each day with a full glass of water and take it exactly as directed. Do not take more or less of it or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor. Your doctor will probably start you on a low dose and may increase your dose after 2 to 4 weeks.
Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.

Important

This may help control your condition, but it will not cure it. Continue to take it even if you feel well. Do not stop taking this without talking to your doctor. This should not be used by women or children.
