Celecoxib (Generic Celebrex®) Usage, Directions, Indication and Instructions

• Celecoxib (Generic Celebrex®) is used to treat pain or inflammation caused by many conditions such as arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, cancer pain and menstrual pain.
• Celecoxib (Generic Celebrex®) is also used in the treatment of hereditary polyps in the colon.



Celecoxib (Generic Celebrex®) Adverse Reactions, Precautions and Warning

• Inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are allergic to Celecoxib (Generic Celebrex®) or any other medications.
• Do not forget to tell your doctor and pharmacist what other prescription and nonprescription medications, vitamins, nutritional supplements, and herbal products you are taking or plan to take.
• Common side effects are headache and dyspepsia (upset stomach). Notify your doctor if effects persist and worsen.
• Celecoxib (Generic Celebrex®) may cause ulcers, bleeding, or holes in the stomach or intestine.
• Celecoxib (Generic Celebrex®) can increase your risk of life-threatening heart or circulation problems, including heart attack or stroke.
• Do not drink alcohol while taking Celecoxib (Generic Celebrex®).
• Get emergency medical help right away if you experience any of the following symptoms: chest pain, shortness of breath, weakness in one part or side of the body, or slurred speech.


Celecoxib (Generic Celebrex®) Dosage and Administration

• Celecoxib (Generic Celebrex®) is usually taken once or twice a day with food or milk to lessen stomach upset.
• If you are taking Celecoxib (Generic Celebrex®) up to 200 mg at a time, you may take with or without food.
• If you are taking Celecoxib (Generic Celebrex®) more than 200 mg at a time, you should take with food.



Celecoxib (Generic Celebrex®) Important

• Do not use Celecoxib (Generic Celebrex®) just before or after having heart bypass surgery (also called coronary artery bypass graft, or CABG).
• Do not start using Celecoxib (Generic Celebrex®) or any new medication without telling your doctor.
• Follow doctor’s advice strictly.
