Valsartan (Generic Diovan®) Usage, Directions, Indication and Instructions

• Valsartan (Generic Diovan®) is used alone or in combination with other medications to treat high blood pressure.
• Valsartan (Generic Diovan®) is also used to treat heart failure in people who cannot take angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors.
• To be sure Valsartan (Generic Diovan®) medication is helping your condition; your blood pressure will need to be checked on a regular basis.

Valsartan (Generic Diovan®) Adverse Reactions, Precautions and Warning

• Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction to Valsartan (Generic Diovan®): hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat feeling light-headed, fainting or fast or pounding heartbeats.
• Do not use if you are allergic to Valsartan (Generic Diovan®), or if you are unable to urinate.
• Before using Valsartan (Generic Diovan®), inform your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs, or if you have kidney disease or liver disease.
• Avoid drinking alcohol. Valsartan (Generic Diovan®) can lower your blood pressure and may increase some of the side effects.
• Valsartan (Generic Diovan®) may cause other side effects. Call your doctor if you have any unusual problems while taking this medication.
• Do not take Valsartan (Generic Diovan®) if you are pregnant. If you become pregnant while taking, call your doctor immediately, Valsartan (Generic Diovan®) may harm the fetus.

Valsartan (Generic Diovan®) Dosage and Administration

• For the treatment of high blood pressure, Valsartan (Generic Diovan®) is usually taken once a day with or without food with a full glass (8 ounces) of water.
• For the treatment of heart failure, Valsartan (Generic Diovan®) is usually taken twice a day with or without food.
• To help you remember Valsartan (Generic Diovan®), take it around the same time every day.

Important

• If you are being treated for high blood pressure, keep using Valsartan (Generic Diovan®) even if you feel fine.
• Continue Valsartan (Generic Diovan®) even if you feel well, don’t stop without talking to your doctor.
