Doxycycline (Generic Doryx®, Generic Vibramycin®) Usage, Directions, Indication and Instructions

• Doxycycline (Generic Doryx®, Generic Vibramycin®) is used to treat many different bacterial infections, such as urinary tract infections, acne, gonorrhea, and chlamydia, periodontitis (gum disease), and others.
• Doxycycline (Generic Doryx®, Generic Vibramycin®) may be used in combination with other medicines to treat certain amoeba infections.

Doxycycline (Generic Doryx®, Generic Vibramycin®) Adverse Reactions, Precautions and Warning

• Taking Doxycycline (Generic Doryx®, Generic Vibramycin®) have side effects such as diarrhea, itching of the rectum or vagina, severe headache, blurred vision, skin rash, hives, difficulty breathing or swallowing, redness of the skin (sunburn), yellowing of the skin or eyes, itching, dark-colored urine and sore mouth. Notify your doctor if effects persist or worsen.
• You should know that when Doxycycline (Generic Doryx®, Generic Vibramycin®) is used during pregnancy or in babies or children up to age 8, it can cause the teeth to become permanently stained.
• Doxycycline (Generic Doryx®, Generic Vibramycin®) should not be used in children under age 8 except for inhalational anthrax or if your doctor decides it is needed.

Doxycycline (Generic Doryx®, Generic Vibramycin®) Dosage and Administration

• Doxycycline (Generic Doryx®, Generic Vibramycin®) is usually taken once or twice a day with a full glass of water with each dose.
• If your stomach becomes upset when you take Doxycycline (Generic Doryx®, Generic Vibramycin®), you may take it with food or milk.
• If you are taking Doxycycline (Generic Doryx®, Generic Vibramycin®) for the prevention of malaria, start taking it 1 or 2 days before traveling to an area where there is malaria.

Important

• Continue taking Doxycycline (Generic Doryx®, Generic Vibramycin®) even if you feel well.
• Take all the medication until you are finished, unless your doctor tells you otherwise.
• Take this strictly in accordance with your Doctors’ advice.
• Continue taking Doxycycline (Generic Doryx®, Generic Vibramycin®) for 4 weeks after leaving the area where there is malaria.
• You should not take Doxycycline (Generic Doryx®, Generic Vibramycin®) for the prevention of malaria for more than 4 months.
