Levofloxacin (Generic Levaquin®) Usage, Directions, Indication and Instructions

• Levofloxacin (Generic Levaquin®) is used to treat infections such as pneumonia; chronic bronchitis; and sinus, urinary tract, kidney, and skin infections.
• Levofloxacin (Generic Levaquin®) is sometimes used to treat endocarditis (infection of the heart lining and valves), certain sexually transmitted diseases, and tuberculosis (TB)
• Levofloxacin (Generic Levaquin®) is also sometimes used to prevent or treat travelers' diarrhea and plague (a serious infection that may be spread on purpose as part of a bioterror attack).

Levofloxacin (Generic Levaquin®) Adverse Reactions, Precautions and Warning

• You may experience diarrhoea, feeling sick (nausea), may cause vomiting, indigestion, stomach-ache, wind, difficulty in swallowing, loss of appetite and skin rashes with Levofloxacin (Generic Levaquin®).
• Do not take Levofloxacin (Generic Levaquin®) if you have allergic reactions to it or any of its constituents.

Levofloxacin (Generic Levaquin®) Dosage and Administration

• Levofloxacin (Generic Levaquin®) is usually taken once daily for 7-14 days.
• Treatment for some infections may take Levofloxacin (Generic Levaquin®) 6 weeks or longer.
• Levofloxacin (Generic Levaquin®) can be taken with or without food.
• If an upset stomach occurs, take Levofloxacin (Generic Levaquin®) with food.
• Drink at least eight full glasses of water or other liquid every day.
• Do not take Levofloxacin (Generic Levaquin®) more or less of it or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor.
• If you missed Levofloxacin (Generic Levaquin®) dose, take the missed dose as soon as you remember it.
• However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule.
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.

Levofloxacin (Generic Levaquin®) Important

• Antibiotics will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections.
• Take Levofloxacin (Generic Levaquin®) until you finish the prescription, even if you feel better.
• If you stop taking Levofloxacin (Generic Levaquin®) too soon or if you skip doses, your infection may not be completely treated and the bacteria may become resistant to antibiotics..
