Hydrochlorothiazide (Generic Aldactazide®) Usage, Directions, Indication and Instructions

• Hydrochlorothiazide (Generic Aldactazide®) is used to treat high blood pressure and fluid retention caused by various conditions, including heart disease.
• Hydrochlorothiazide (Generic Aldactazide®) may also be used to treat patients with diabetes insipidus and certain electrolyte disturbances
• Hydrochlorothiazide (Generic Aldactazide®) may also be used to prevent kidney stones in patients with high levels of calcium in their blood.
• Frequent urination should go away after taking Hydrochlorothiazide (Generic Aldactazide®) for a few weeks.

Hydrochlorothiazide (Generic Aldactazide®) Adverse Reactions, Precautions and Warning

• Inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are allergic to Hydrochlorothiazide (Generic Aldactazide®) or any other medications.
• Do not forget to tell your doctor and pharmacist your medical history, the other prescription and nonprescription medications, vitamins, nutritional supplements, and herbal products you are taking or plan to take.
• Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away; muscle weakness, dizziness, cramps, thirst, stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite, headache and hair loss.

Hydrochlorothiazide (Generic Aldactazide®) Dosage and Administration

• Hydrochlorothiazide (Generic Aldactazide®) usually is taken once or twice a day.
• If you are to take Hydrochlorothiazide (Generic Aldactazide®) once a day, take in the morning;
• If you are to take Hydrochlorothiazide (Generic Aldactazide®) twice a day, take in the morning and in the late afternoon to avoid going to the bathroom during the night.
• Take Hydrochlorothiazide (Generic Aldactazide®) with a meal or snack.

Important

• Hydrochlorothiazide (Generic Aldactazide®) controls high blood pressure but does not cure it.
• Continue taking Hydrochlorothiazide (Generic Aldactazide®) even if you feel well.
• Do not stop Hydrochlorothiazide (Generic Aldactazide®) without talking to your doctor.
