Amlodipine (Generic Norvasc®) Usage, Directions, Indication and Instructions

• Amlodipine (Generic Norvasc®) is used alone or in combination with other medications to treat high blood pressure and chest pain (angina).
• Amlodipine (Generic Norvasc®) controls chest pain by increasing the supply of blood to the heart.
• Amlodipine (Generic Norvasc®) if taken regularly, controls chest pain, but Amlodipine (Generic Norvasc®) does not stop chest pain once it starts.
• Your doctor may prescribe a different medication to take when you have chest pain.


Amlodipine (Generic Norvasc®) Adverse Reactions, Precautions and Warning

• Inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are allergic to Amlodipine (Generic Norvasc®) or any other medications.
• Do not forget to tell your doctor and pharmacist your medical history, what other prescription and nonprescription medications, vitamins, nutritional supplements, and herbal products you are taking or plan to take.
• Use Amlodipine (Generic Norvasc®) with caution when you stand or sit up from a lying position, especially if you wake up during the night. You may become dizzy when changing positions.
• Amlodipine (Generic Norvasc®) may cause side-effects like swelling of the hands, feet, ankles, or lower legs, headache, upset stomach, stomach pain, dizziness or lightheadedness, drowsiness, excessive tiredness and flushing (feeling of warmth). Notify your doctor if these won’t go away.


Amlodipine (Generic Norvasc®) Dosage and Administration

• Amlodipine (Generic Norvasc®) is usually taken once a day with or without meals.
• To help you remember to take, take Amlodipine (Generic Norvasc®) around the same time every day.


Important

• Amlodipine (Generic Norvasc®) controls high blood pressure and chest pain (angina) but does not cure them.
• Continue taking Amlodipine (Generic Norvasc®) even if you feel well. Do not stop without talking to your doctor, even if you begin to feel better. If you stop, your condition could become worse.
