• Fenofibrate (Generic Tricor®) is used in conjunction with a special diet, to treat people with very high levels of triglycerides (a fatty substance in the blood).
• Fenofibrate (Generic Tricor®) lowers total cholesterol--including "bad" LDL cholesterol--and raising "good" HDL cholesterol.
• Fenofibrate (Generic Tricor®) works by promoting the dissolution and elimination of fat particles in the blood. • To be sure Fenofibrate (Generic Tricor®) is helping your condition, your blood will need to be tested on a regular basis.
• Your liver and gallbladder function may also need to be tested.

Fenofibrate (Generic Tricor®) Dosage and Administration

• Fenofibrate (Generic Tricor®) is usually taken with or without food once a day.
• Take Fenofibrate (Generic Tricor®) at around the same time(s) every day.
• Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand.
• Take Fenofibrate (Generic Tricor®) exactly as directed.
• Do not take Fenofibrate (Generic Tricor®) more or less of it or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor.
