Usage, Directions, Indication and Instructions

This is used to treat angina (chest pain) and hypertension (high blood pressure) and is also used to treat or prevent heart attack. This is also sometimes used to prevent migraine headaches and to treat alcohol withdrawal, heart failure, and irregular heartbeat. To be sure this medication is helping your condition; your blood pressure will need to be checked on a regular basis. Store this at room temperature away from moisture and heat.

Adverse Reactions, Precautions and Warning

Inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are allergic to it or any other medications. Do not forget to tell your doctor and pharmacist what other prescription and nonprescription medications, vitamins, nutritional supplements, and herbal products you are taking or plan to take. This may impair your thinking or reactions. Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Avoid alcoholic drink. Seek emergency medical attention if you think you have used too much of this medicine.

Dosage and Administration

It is usually taken once or twice a day. To help you remember to take, take it around the same time every day and take it exactly as directed. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.

Important

This controls high blood pressure and angina but does not cure them. It may take 1-2 weeks before you feel the full benefit and do continue to take it even if you feel well. Do not stop without talking to your doctor. Stopping suddenly may make your condition worse.
