Usage, Directions, Indication and Instructions

This is used to treat heart failure (condition in which the heart cannot pump enough blood to all parts of the body) and high blood pressure. It also is used to treat people whose hearts cannot pump blood well as a result of a heart attack. This is often used in combination with other medications. Your doctor will probably start you on a low dose and gradually increase your dose to allow your body to adjust to the medication.

Adverse Reactions, Precautions and Warning

This can cause side effects that may impair your thinking or reactions. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be awake and alert. This may cause hyperglycemia (high blood sugar) and may cause other side effects. Notify your doctor if you experience any unusual problems while you are taking this medication. This is only part of a complete program of treatment for hypertension that may also include diet, exercise, and weight control.

Dosage and Administration

This is usually taken twice a day with food and with a full glass of water. Try to take it at around the same time(s) every day.

Important

Continue taking even if you feel well. Do not stop without talking to your doctor. To be sure this is helping your condition; your blood pressure will need to be checked on a regular basis. It is important that you not miss any scheduled visits to your doctor.
