Usage, Directions, Indication and Instructions This is used to treat pain or inflammation caused by many conditions such as arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and menstrual pain. It is also used in the treatment of hereditary polyps in the colon.
Adverse Reactions, Precautions and Warning Inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are allergic to it or any other medications. Do not forget to tell your doctor and pharmacist what other prescription and nonprescription medications, vitamins, nutritional supplements, and herbal products you are taking or plan to take. Common side effects are headache and dyspepsia (upset stomach). Notify your doctor if effects persist and worsen. This may cause ulcers, bleeding, or holes in the stomach or intestine. This medicine can increase your risk of life-threatening heart or circulation problems, including heart attack or stroke. Do not drink alcohol while taking the medication. Get emergency medical help right away if you experience any of the following symptoms: chest pain, shortness of breath, weakness in one part or side of the body, or slurred speech.
Dosage and Administration This is usually taken once or twice a day with food or milk to lessen stomach upset. If you are taking up to 200 mg at a time, you may take this with or without food. If you are taking more than 200 mg at a time, you should take the medication with food.
Important Do not use this just before or after having heart bypass surgery (also called coronary artery bypass graft, or CABG). Do not start using a new medication without telling your doctor. Follow doctor’s advice strictly.
