Usage, Directions, Indication and Instructions

This is used to treat high blood pressure. It is also used to prevent angina (chest pain) and heart attacks. This is also used to treat abnormal heart rhythms, used to prevent migraine, although it is not fully understood how this works in this area.

Adverse Reactions, Precautions and Warning

You should inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are allergic to it or any other medications. Do not forget to mention to your doctor and pharmacist what prescription and nonprescription medications, vitamins, nutritional supplements, and herbal products you are taking. This medicine may occasionally cause fatigue and dizziness. Remember that alcohol can add to the drowsiness caused by this drug. This medicine should not be used if you are allergic to one or any of its ingredients. If you experience any unusual reactions after taking the medication, notify your doctor immediately. This medicine may mask the symptoms of low blood sugar such as increased heart rate, tremor and nausea. People with diabetes should carefully monitor their blood sugar.

Dosage and Administration

The regular tab is usually taken once or twice a day with food. The extended-release (long-acting) product usually is taken once a day. Take this exactly as directed. Do not take more or less of it or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor.

Important

This helps control your condition but will not cure it. Continue even if you feel well. Do not stop without talking to your doctor. If this is stopped suddenly, it may cause chest pain or heart attack in some people.
