Usage, Directions and Indication

The tab is used to treat certain infections caused by bacteria, such as pneumonia and infections of the ears, lungs, throat, urinary tract, and skin.
Absorption of this is reduced by antacids; therefore antacids should not be taken at the same time.

Adverse Reactions, Precautions and Warning

It is important that you inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are allergic to it or any other medications and what prescription and nonprescription medications, vitamins, nutritional supplements, and herbal products you are taking. This may cause side effects like diarrhea. Inform your doctor if this symptom is severe or does not go away. Some side effects can be serious like severe skin rash, itching, hives, difficulty breathing or swallowing, wheezing, joint pain, fever, painful sores in the mouth or throat, vaginal itching and discharge. If you experience any of these, call your doctor immediately.

Dosage and Administration

This is usually taken every 8 hours (three times a day) or every 12 hours (twice a day) and should be swallowed whole and taken with a full glass of water. To help you remember to take it, take it around the same time every day and exactly as directed. Do not take more or less of it or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor.
If you missed a dose, take it as soon as you remember it. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.

Important

Take this until you finish the prescription, even if you feel better. Stopping the medication too soon may cause bacteria to become resistant to antibiotics.
