Usage, Directions, Indication and Instructions

This is used alone or in combination with other medications to treat high blood pressure and chest pain (angina). It controls chest pain by increasing the supply of blood to the heart. If taken regularly, this controls chest pain, but it does not stop chest pain once it starts. Your doctor may prescribe a different medication to take when you have chest pain.

Adverse Reactions, Precautions and Warning

Inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are allergic to it or any other medications. Do not forget to tell your doctor and pharmacist your medical history, what other prescription and nonprescription medications, vitamins, nutritional supplements, and herbal products you are taking or plan to take. Use caution when you stand or sit up from a lying position, especially if you wake up during the night. You may become dizzy when changing positions. This may cause side-effects like swelling of the hands, feet, ankles, or lower legs, headache, upset stomach, stomach pain, dizziness or lightheadedness, drowsiness, excessive tiredness and flushing (feeling of warmth). Notify your doctor if these won’t go away.

Dosage and Administration

It is usually taken once a day with or without meals. To help you remember to take, take it around the same time every day.

Important

This controls high blood pressure and chest pain (angina) but does not cure them. Continue taking even if you feel well. Do not stop without talking to your doctor, even if you begin to feel better. If you stop, your condition could become worse.
