Usage, Directions, Indication and Instructions

This is used to treat high cholesterol. This is also used to lower the risk of stroke, heart attack, or other heart complications in people with coronary heart disease or type 2 diabetes. This is used along with diet, exercise, and weight-loss to reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke and to decrease the chance that heart surgery will be needed in people who have heart disease or who are at risk of developing heart disease.

Adverse Reactions, Precautions and Warning

Inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are allergic to it or any other medications. Do not forget to tell your doctor and pharmacist your medical history, what other prescription and nonprescription medications, vitamins, nutritional supplements, and herbal products you are taking or plan to take. Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Stop and call your doctor at once if you have any of these serious side effects: muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness with fever or flu symptoms and dark colored urine. Avoid drinking alcoholic beverages while taking this medication, this can raise triglyceride levels, and may also damage your liver.

Dosage and Administration

This can be taken once a day with or without food. Take this at around the same time every day and take it exactly as directed. Do not take more or less of it or take it more often than directed on the package label or as recommended by your doctor.
