Levonorgestrel (Generic Plan B®) Usage, Directions, Indication and Instructions

• Levonorgestrel (Generic Plan B®) is a backup method to birth control a synthetic hormone used in birth control pills for over 35 years.
• Levonorgestrel (Generic Plan B®) works like other birth control pills to prevent pregnancy.
• Levonorgestrel (Generic Plan B®) acts primarily by stopping the release of an egg from the ovary (ovulation).
• If fertilization does occur, Levonorgestrel (Generic Plan B®) may prevent a fertilized egg from attaching to the womb (implantation).
• If a fertilized egg is implanted prior to taking Levonorgestrel (Generic Plan B®), this will not work.
• Levonorgestrel (Generic Plan B®) should not be used as a routine birth control method, because Levonorgestrel (Generic Plan B®) is actually less effective at preventing pregnancies than most types of birth control.
